New Design from Düsseldorf brings together around 50 nominated projects by a new generation of designers from Düsseldorf. All participating designers are graduates of the Peter Behrens School of Arts at Hochschule Düsseldorf–University of Applied Sciences, with work spanning New Craft Object Design, Communication Design, Retail Design, and Exhibition Design. Presented at NRW-Forum Düsseldorf, the exhibition and its accompanying catalog document the projects while highlighting the innovative thinking and diverse perspectives emerging from contemporary design education in the city.

Through experimental and artistic approaches, the featured projects address pressing social issues including identity, gender, feminism, sustainability, education, and science. Beyond questions of form and function, the works examine the role of design in a rapidly changing society and explore how design methods can engage with reality, raise critical questions, and create new spaces for reflection.

The catalog also includes several forewords and an essay on the exhibition design process, detailing how students developed and produced sustainable exhibition furniture specifically for the presentation.
