This volume is an expanded and revised edition of the version published in 2016. The original edition featured approximately 1,800 works, including around 1,200 covers personally illustrated by Tezuka for manga volumes. This new edition adds earlier covers that were later replaced in revised editions, selected covers from volumes published after Tezuka’s death, original cover artwork, and recently discovered advertising materials, making the collection even more comprehensive.

The book is organized chronologically around Tezuka’s creative career, beginning with his debut as a manga artist and the rise of monthly magazine serialization, moving into the era of weekly serialization and his mature period, and extending to his work across magazines, picture books, records, and other media.
