Introduction
``Designer's FILE'' is a book that provides a borderless introduction to the design and design of products, interiors, architecture, and other areas of manufacturing.
Celebrating its 14th anniversary, the magazine has been attracting more works and designers each year for the past few years than the previous year.
This is all thanks to all the designers and readers who have evaluated and utilized this book. Thank you again.
This year's DF2024 has become a yearbook that is thicker and hotter in content. thank you.
●Drawing with AI
Recently, it has become possible to create pictures and illustrations using AI.
For fun, I had them draw things like ``future motorcycles,'' ``future Japanese women's fashion,'' and ``future live houses.''
Each created some pretty outrageous visuals, and I was curious about the data sourced from the AI.
If I added more keywords (prompts), I might be able to get closer to the visual I want, but for fun, I left it at that.
However, there is one thing that may be useful as a source of inspiration for your design.
I think the amount of data and images that each person has entered so far is quite large, but it is no match for big data.
It may not be a bad idea to use AI if you feel that the amount of data you have stored is limited and your image is not improving.
You may find various pieces of ideas.
●Digital & analog
The world of manufacturing began with CAD, and generative design, VR, AI, and digital tools have continued to evolve and become indispensable.
On the other hand, woodworking and handcrafts are also popular. However, I think that digital tools are now being used in some form even in manual work.
For some reason, digital and analog tend to have a conflicting structure, with digitalists versus analogues, but as long as the main characters are humans and designers, I feel like it's just a matter of using both in the right place.
Only when people no longer say "digital tools are amazing" or "AI is amazing" will they become truly effective tools.
And I think it doesn't matter if it's made mainly digitally or mainly analogue, as long as life is breathed into it.
I believe that the works published in this book use a variety of tools. One way for enthusiasts to enjoy this book may be to try to imagine the tools that will be used based on the molding form.
