【Product Description】

Every day is a new day is a tear-off calendar for 2027 designed by Dutch graphic designer Karel Martens. Featuring 365 individual compositions—one for each day of the year—the calendar transforms an everyday timekeeping object into a constantly changing work of graphic design.

The images originate from Martens’ long-standing working method. Using found metal objects as printing elements, he creates compositions through letterpress and monoprint techniques, repeatedly arranging and overprinting geometric forms and colors. These printed works were then digitized and developed into a complete series of 365 unique compositions.

From simple lines, circles, and rectangular forms to abstract shapes resembling numbers and symbols, each page reflects Martens’ distinctive sensitivity to proportion, rhythm, color, and the physical qualities of print. Through shifting arrangements and overlapping colors, seemingly simple forms generate a remarkable range of visual variations, while retaining the irregular textures and element of chance characteristic of hand printing.

Tearing off a page each day reveals a new composition. More than a functional calendar, this is a design object that evolves throughout the year—just as the title suggests: Every day is a new day.
