Book Description

In this book, Offecct collaborates with several well-known creators, including design writer Yoko Choy Wai-ching, the China editor of Wallpaper magazine, as well as photographers Bjorn Ceder, Andreas Ackerup, and the Henrik Nygren Design team. The book details Luca Nichetto's first encounter with Offecct in 2007 and how he incorporated Scandinavian sustainability concepts into his native Italian design language.

In a conversation with Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde, Nichetto states, "The more restrictions you have, the more creative you have to be. Sustainability is one of those restrictions that leads us to discover things we have never considered before." Designer Luca Nichetto, born in Venice in 1976, was inspired by the famous Murano glassmaking industry. He studied at the Istituto Statale d'Arte in Venice and later earned a degree in industrial design from the Università Iuav di Venezia (IUAV). In 2006, he established his own design studio in Venice. Five years later, he moved to Stockholm, Sweden, to start a family and opened a second studio, combining Italian flair with Swedish modernity and sustainability. Over the years, Luca has served as an art director for numerous international design brands and gained a reputation as a multidisciplinary designer. His highly researched and innovative projects, ranging from products, accessories, and furniture to architecture, exhibition design, and branding, have earned him numerous international design awards.
